International Youth Media Summmit

The pre-jury had the toughest job ever in the festival’s history as they counted from 55 countries 962 entries. This amount of shortfilms is unique in Hungary. So we are pleased to announce that the 7th BuSho International Short Film Festival’s competition program is lined up and contains 93 shorts in total including 65 fiction, 16 animation and 12 experimental works. By the statistics it isn’t a surprise that the most entries made it to the competition are from Spain. There will be a Panorama section again where we’ll show those works just missed the competition and also all the received Hungarian shorts will be screened, to make everyone an opportunity for their work to be shown. So we’d like to ask all the filmmakers to post their copy by 15. July the latest with the following technical parameters: PAL SD 16:9 (or 4:3 but please not letterbox) on MiniDV tape (SP, DVCAM) or data DVD (AVI, MOV, MPEG2 MP4).

The 5^th International Youth Media Summit has the honour to invite you to the first presentation of the films that were made over the course of the the last few days in Belgrade. Young Summit participants from Spain, France, Iran, The Netherlands, Germany, USA, Sweden, Poland, Austria, Greece, Canada, Thailand, Hungary, Nigeria and Serbia were working together on the central topics of the Summit: youth, environment, health, poverty, democracy, discrimination and violence. They are inviting you to join them at the

on 18^th August 2010 at 8p.m.

There you can meet the delegates and watch their seven films as well as the documentary film about the Summit. Bring your friends.

Since most of the filming was finished, the fourth day of the Summit was very quiet and calm. Four of seven groups were editing, and Poverty, Health and Youth finished filming.

This year the Summit has a special guest from Canada. Julia Rogers from Me to We, a social enterprise that challenges traditional methods of doing business by providing people with daily choices that can truly change the world.

During the Summit, she participated in the making of the Discrimination PSA, and she held workshops on youth leadership on the second and the third day of the Summit.

The 3rd day of the Summit was very busy and dynamic. Most of the crews started shooting their PSAs, and some of them even started with post-production. The delegates finished writing their declarations and discussed which one they would like to use as their group’s official declaration.

It is 12^th August 2010. In the middle of the ever-busy, scorching hot city of Belgrade, a group of young people from all over the world have once again gathered to join their creative minds in order to discuss and find solutions to the seven issues of the International Youth Media Summit.
